

Commissions
4-MALITY have commissioned works from Ian Vine, Benjamin Wallfisch, Eric Sammut, Julian Warburton and Dinuk Wijeratne.
Ian Vine's Siri2 was premiered at
the Newbury Spring Festival May 2000, having orginally been written for Peader
Townsend as a solo percussion and Tape piece. Since then, Siri2 has been performed
at the Purcell Room and for BBC World Service in Bristol. For more details

Eric Sammut is one of the worlds leading marimbists and is principal percussion with L'orchestre de Paris. 4-MALITY performed the world premiere of his quartet, Extreme Ice Cream at the Stratford English Music Festival in October 2001. Eric also wrote 4-MALITY the piece Lost in the Ocean for it's premiere in Turku, Finland.
Julian Warburton is a freelance percussionist based in London. Julian wrote Jugalbandi for himself and 4-MALITY to perform at Rhythm Sticks 2000, Purcell Room, 16 July 2000. It was performed again at the Lindbury Studio, January 2001. Written as a solo piece for Marimba and Log Drum with percussion quartet, it was influenced by Julian's recent trip to India.
Dinuk Wijeratne is a composition student at the RNCM. In June 2000, Adrian Spillett premiered Wijeratne's Percussion Concerto with the RNCM Chamber Orchestra. 4-MALITY and Apollo Saxophone Quartet premiered his octet at Chelmsford Festival in June 2001 with support from the Chelmsford Festival.
